The HK USP Compact has a special place in my heart. It was my first gun and I shot it for the first five years. I think you always have a special place in your heart for your first gun. The USP Compact was the first gun I bought and learned to shoot. Luckily, I still have it and I still love taking it around.

I purchased my HK USP Compact in 2004 for $848.99 from Jays Sporting Goods in Gaylord, Michigan. Since this was my first pistol, I spent a good amount of time switching between the HK, SIG Sauer P229, and Glock 19 Gen 2. I chose the USP Compact based on how it felt in my hand and the ergonomics required. I planned to hide the gun and wanted to shoot the IDPA again, so I stopped with the compact frame size.

I put 2000-3000 rounds through my uncle's Glock 17 Gen2 before I bought my HK. The Glock shot flawlessly during the first few months of my shooting training. I would buy a Glock, but I wanted to try something else to see what I like. I was a teenager at the time and the HK fit well in my hands but I was able and light. Some things were different, like the magazine release and the DA/SA trigger, but it got easier with practice. Competing with the HK USP Compact was a little inconsistent compared to the old guys who were running Smith & Wesson 686s and Kimber 1911s.
Even though I was the local black sheep, I loved how well USP shot every match I attended. The main issue I had with the gun was the polymer trigger and its flexibility. Since this was my first gun, I didn't notice the difference in the ammo until I changed it. I decided to upgrade to my SIG Sauer P226 after having my HK for a few years. Honestly, in the grand scheme of things, the HK USP trigger isn't bad by any means. The USP is the recoil force that recoils and is easy to control for quick shots. Over time I learned to depress the HK trigger with my finger on the trigger to trigger a quick reset. After a while, the USP rifle became the main rifle for the IDPA arena, but the 226 and other rifles met my needs a little better.
All HK USP Compact designs are 23 years old, so they are not considered new. Surprisingly, it holds up well compared to the options on offer today. With a full magazine, the USP Compact is at its best. This is an easy gun to shoot and clean and can be easily disassembled into four main parts. In terms of disassembly, the USP Compact is like any other modern pistol, and can be disassembled and reassembled. The biggest flaw of the USP that I can see is the large tank. The standard plug-in magazine holds 13 rounds, which isn't a ton compared to the SIG P365 and Springfield Hellcat now. Modern updates from HK, like VP9, Back then it was the best way to carry concealed.
Overall, if you've been wanting to own a USP Compact, I'd say you should get one. The mine was bulletproof and reliable with all kinds of weapons. I still carry my USP Compact most of the time, although it's not the latest and greatest. It may not have the power or functionality of a gun these days, but it's tough and I still believe in it with my life. Let me know what you think of the USP Compact after 23 years on the market. Holster For The Hk Vp40
I am an avid shooter and love to learn, whether I am working or at the shooting range. I'm just an average joe who likes to talk to other people about guns and other interests. Here's what you need to remember: The HK VP-9 is a powerful 9mm "workhorse" handgun that you can take with you to the field or for self-defense. .
The HK VP9 is a full size assault rifle manufactured by Heckler & Koch. Often compared to the Glock, the VP9 is more of a popular polymer pistol. In fact, if you've used a Glock and felt unsatisfied, you'll want to get your hands on the VP9. This modern European handgun would be great for shooting, self defense, or even concealed carry.
What everyone in this group wants from a gun is for it to be more accurate than it is. The HK VP9 certainly delivers in this regard. Especially if you are new to shooting, a gun like the VP9 is a good choice to start with.
As a large pistol, the length of the barrel not only allows for more accurate shooting, but also a larger profile compared to, say, a Glock 19.

The sights themselves are bright, with two rear sights and one front sight. Shooting is simple and easy: everything you want from a gun.
If you haven't owned a Heckler & Koch pistol before, you owe it to yourself to get one. In my experience, every HK gun I've tested has been reliable, and the VP9 is no exception.
That's not even considering the natural reliability of the shockfire platform, but I'm looking forward to longer days with the HK VP9.
Handling HK VP9 deserves a special mention. The designers of this gun seem to have made ergonomics a priority, with several important features that stand out among similar guns.
Concealed Carry Tip: Carry A Nice Gun, You're Worth It
First, the handle: The VP9's handle is made with a lightweight design that allows for a cruelty-free shopping experience. Notably, the handle is customizable out of the box with small, medium and large panels that can be placed on the side and back of the handle as desired.
This means that you can, for example, put a large handle on the back and a small handle on the side panels, or vice versa. The modified grip is a great option for lefties and is a feature that few guns have out of the box. The gun itself was designed for round use, with a magazine and bolt on either side of the weapon.
One thing that may frustrate some shooters is the paddle-like magazine release. Paddles tend to be unpopular in the United States, and for good reason: they're a little awkward to hit, forcing me to switch hands to reach them. If you really hate the magazine release paddle, I recommend checking out the HK VP9-B, which replaces it with a button.
Finally, it is important to notice the two polymer wings on the back of the bolt, which are visible from the back. These little things go a long way in pulling the bolt back, especially if you're wearing gloves or the gun is wet. Anything that makes guns run better is a good thing in my book.

The trigger, according to HK, has a pull of 5 pounds, 4 ounces, which is comparable to other polymer-loaded pistols (read: Glocks). HK also claims that the VP-9 trigger is "best in class," beating all of its competitors, and I don't disagree.
However, I don't think this is a big win. In general, the trigger is smooth on the ride and has good breathability. It has ridges to support the trigger finger pull. It's better than the Glock, but I'd say it's much better than the factory build.
If you see this gun in a lot of use, the aftermarket trigger would be an easy upgrade.
The HK VP9 comes with two 15-round 9x19mm magazines. The cutouts at the bottom of the magazine make them easy to remove and I like this feature in my guns.

Again, the trigger release is not known, but it works well as an ambidextrous magazine release once you get the feel of it. I found that using the trigger finger (as opposed to the thumb) worked well, but I often forgot to do it during the actual shooting. This requires a different type of muscle memory that everyone can develop over time.
It is also worth noting the cartridge symbol on the back: a red dot visible on the back. While this is a good feature, I don't think anyone who knows how to use a gun needs it, and the loaded chamber indicator, like any other part of the gun, can sometimes fail.
Like the 9mm pistol, the VP9 is versatile
