Cz P07 Reviews - The CZ P-07 is a light-duty pistol designed primarily as a service weapon. Replacing the successful CZ 75 P-07 DUTY, the CZ P-07 has many new features.
The new surface coating of the slide, barrel and some other parts greatly increases the weapon's resistance to wear and tear. The new material is a glass fiber reinforced polymer that provides high security and weapon use.

The interchangeable back allows the gun to fit the user's hands when needed. They come in three sizes - S, M, L and form a standard gun. The weapon is rounded in several places, all sharp edges are removed.

Notes have been added to the front of the slide for convenience. The trigger and hammer were also changed. Magazine capacity is 15 rounds in 9x19 caliber and 12 rounds in .40 S&W caliber. This capacity can be increased to 17 (9x19) and 15 (.40 S&W) using the magazine extension that comes with the weapon. Coming from the gun world, I've always had a distant relationship with CZ. They have always seemed like an "out brand" that has nothing to do with me or my interests. The buzz around me has always been Glock, H&K, Sig and S&W. To be honest, the CZ P07 was what I considered a "communist weapon".
The CZ P07 represents the second generation of CZ polymer guns. In 2012, I actually solved one of the first generations of data exchange. It looked a bit "modern" compared to what I expected from CZ's offerings. I chose FNS-9 instead.
Still, I'm glad I did. Not because I'm happy with the FNS-9, but because the next-gen P07 offers many improvements. But before we get there, let's talk a little bit about CZ and how we got to this point.
I wanted to comment on the evolution that led to the CZ pistol and the P07 and why I thought it was a "commission gun" and it wasn't. If you want to skip that part and review it right away, you can click here.

All in all, I think the CZ P07 is a good choice for the polymer DA/SA market. It's real, beautiful and well built. However, it lags behind other traditional options when it comes to weight and size. While I think the P07 is a good choice, definitely compare it to other good pistols to see how it fits your needs.
CZ is short for Česká Zbrojovka, which means Czech weapons. The second part of the name, Uherský Brod, refers to the town where they are located. There were actually many Czech Arms manufacturers, so the name of the city where the factory was located further distinguished them.
In 1936, the Czechoslovak government acknowledged the threat from Nazi Germany and controlled its native industries.
The factory in Strakonice, 60 kilometers from the border, was moved to the small town of Uherský Brod. Production of anti-aircraft machine guns and small arms began in 1937.

The Nazis continued to occupy the area during the war, forcing the factory to serve as a warehouse for German small arms. After the war, production turned to a mix of civilian and civilian weapons.
Of course, being behind the Soviet Iron Curtain didn't help. Warsaw Pact countries were required to produce weapons of the same caliber and to use joint weapons in military operations.
I guess you could say the engineers at CZ have always been rebellious. In Soviet times, all of the Warsaw Pact countries used Tokarev and Makarov pistols, and nothing was included in the “Western” 9×19 Luger.
Dirt Cheaper actually made a great sequel, but I'll hit the highlights for you.

In 1969, CZ interviewed former engineer František Koucký for a new project. They wanted a new modern 9mm pistol, but Soviet laws prevented the company from doing so. Since František was independent and not employed by CZ, he could do whatever he wanted.
Some people out there think that František and his brother want to make a Browning Hi-Power clone. To be fair, its designs borrow heavily from John Browning's pistols as well as many other modern designs. I think this shows how great JMB is.
František completed the design in 1975 and the CZ-75 was born. But there is another problem. CZ wanted to sell pistols outside the iron curtain, which was a big problem under communist leadership, especially in terms of patents. There was none.
When the gun went into fabric, other manufacturers took notice. Moreover, they realized that there was nothing stopping them from designing and making copies of themselves.

Some of the many clones made by other countries and companies are available. I also added the country of origin.
The reason for all the clones is that the CZ-75 is a very ergonomic design and immediately appeals to pistol shooters. I've never felt any pistol as good in my hand as the CZ-75. The Beretta APX comes close, but when you look at its lines it shouldn't be surprising where its inspiration comes from.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, CZ was able to start selling worldwide. Of course they are behind the scenes. Until the 1990s, these companies had created a market selling single guns.
CZ invested heavily in manufacturing and manufacturing capabilities to build on its reputation, eventually obtaining ISO 9001 certification in 1997. In the new period, they immediately began to develop their designs.
Cz P 07 Review
Prior to 2000, CZ already had a regular lineup of large pistols that included the compact, compact, and subcompact. P01 represents the first big leap forward in theory.
In 2001, CZ used its new manufacturing capabilities to create a lighter and more modern pistol. The CZ P01 used a new aluminum frame, added a 1913 rail over the dust cover, and had strong industrial tolerances. In 2003, he passed all the requirements of the Czech National Police, and also received the NATO title.
Overall, the Czech Police recommended a service life of 15,000 rounds + P. Acceptance, the expected reliability requirement is 99.8%.
A failure rate of .2% is equivalent to 20 stops at 10,000,000 or 500 Average Failure Rate (MRBF).
Firearms 101 Reviews: Cz P 09
As reported since publication, P01 hit 7 stops at 15,000,000 for a drop of 0.05%, or an MRBF of 2142. Sounds good, right?
For comparison, the MRBF required for the modular gun system that replaced the P320 was an MRBF of 5000, far beyond the P320. It's not exactly here or there, but I point out that marketing materials don't always tell the whole story.
The P01 was and still is a very successful pistol. I would love to add one to my collection one day.
The standard CZ 75 Compact gained a small P01 light in stealth mode and they called it PCR (Czech Republic). This is a handgun built specifically for year-round carry, open or concealed, and follows the same lines as the CZ-75 series.
Review: Cz P 10 F Competition Ready Pistol
The SP-01 is a large and heavy pistol built on competition shooting. It can also shoot a defensive pistol if it's not too big.
In 2009, CZ launched the P07 series. This was the first of CZ's polymer pistols and featured many innovations. The aim was to create a modern polymer pistol that is reliable and performant by taking the lessons learned from the P01 and PCR pistols. To support this, they developed a new trigger system called Omega Trigger.
It also includes practical changes to the rear grip that make the inside of the gun easier to operate and more comfortable to wear.
The Omega Trigger system allows the user to easily switch between active or safe. If you're like me and prefer to carry a DA/SA pistol with a hammer on the first two shots, you can do this. On the other hand, if you prefer to carry locked and locked like the traditional CZ-75s, you can.

The original P07 Duty had no teething issues. There were cosmetic issues with a "frame bulge" that caused the front to bend a bit in some cases, but this never seemed to cause any performance issues.
CZ took these lessons and designed the P09 pistol with a 19+1 capacity, longer barrel, mechanical improvements and polymer upgrades. It was a hit and remains a popular weapon.
In 2014, CZ applied these changes to the P07 series. I called P07
